What is a ‘Soul Space Wellbeing Account Client’?

Happy February everyone! This month I thought I would explain a little about what it means to be one of my precious ‘Wellbeing Account Clients’. I would love you to join them, and start making your physical and mental health a priority.

I set this up many years ago, recognising the need to encourage my wonderful clients to prioritise their own wellbeing, and I also wanted to find a way to reward them for their loyalty.

I had travelled to Chiang Mai in Thailand (in February 2009, so that was 16 years ago now!) to learn Thai Massage at the wonderful ITM Massage School, and I came to realise how important bodywork was to the Thai people, and how it was not seen as a luxury there, but really more as an everyday part of wellbeing, alongside eating healthily, doing Yoga and Tai Chi, and sleeping well.

It seemed to be taught in families from a very young age – you could see young children, teenagers and adults alike, sitting on the roadsides massaging one anothers shoulders, which was just wonderful! There were rows and rows of lovely folk massaging peoples feet in the night markets, and there were therapy places everywhere! We even went to a have a massage at a blind school, where young adults who sadly had no sight, were taught to be the most incredible therapists, so that they could learn a skill, and earn a living. That was a very emotional experience. I have had some incredible treatments in Asia over the years.

I came home from the trip to Chiang Mai, and decided that massage therapy should be much more accessible to people generally here too, and really viewed far more as a commitment to regular self-care, rather than something you just book as a ‘treat’ for yourself occasionally (though of course that is fine too!).

So - I set up my ‘Wellbeing Account Client’ option. Basically these clients commit to a monthly massage session with me, and then I give them £10 off every hour treatment every month. The vast majority of the clients I have are monthly clients, who recognise the benefit of having regular treatments, and they appreciate the monthly discount too!

Soul Space is a place where you know you are cared for, and not judged, where you can just relax, be yourself, and be looked after. A nurturing, warm and gentle space, where your wellbeing is always the most important thing.

So many businesses have profit as their sole goal. I have always run my business to support myself and my daughter as a single parent, to cover our basic rent and bills of course, but mainly to support my clients wellbeing.

I feel strongly that good business should always bring benefit to both parties. A win-win approach, where you provide a great service to your lovely clients for a fair price, and your clients then continue to give you their loyalty in return. This is what my monthly scheme is all about. I love being a small part of my wonderful clients wellbeing each and every month – it is a complete privilege.

As property rental prices have increased here so much, I now find myself renting a beautiful treatment space for my clients, but needing to live with my parents for now, until such time I can also afford to rent myself a small place to live. As my daughter has now moved up north for university, I have more time to offer my clients, and can be more flexible with my working hours, so I am now looking to expand my business further.

BENEFITS OF BEING A MONTHLY WELLBEING ACCOUNT CLIENT

As a Soul Space ‘Wellbeing Account Client’, you commit to coming for a session once a month (or more if you wish), and to paying by monthly direct debit or standing order as preferred. For that you then receive the following, from my beautiful treatment space at Bulmer Farm in Holmbury St. Mary, Surrey.

*A regular monthly treatment slot booked just for you, for the rest of the year in advance. Alternatively, we can book each month as we go if preferred, but less slots will be available, as those booking a regular slot always get priority.

* £10 off every treatment every month for full hour sessions, or £5 off every 45 minute or 30 minute session.

* Your treatment is fully bespoke on the day – you will receive massage techniques from multiple therapy disciplines in the one treatment, as I design the session completely to suit your individual needs in that moment, based on the healthcare consultation we take together on your first visit, and follow up chats on subsequent visits.

* Full treatment times are always given (sadly not usually the case in the majority of salons or spas), unless the client is so late, that to give the full time would go into the next clients session. I always leave a 20-30 minute gap between clients, to allow for a relaxed experience for everyone.

* Flexibility of treatment times (wherever possible) and I always make up for any missed ‘paid for in advance’ sessions, regardless of reasons for changing an appointment, as long as any cancellation fees due, are paid within 24 hours of the intended session.

* The same, highly-qualified and committed therapist every time (me – who gets to know you and your body!).

* A peaceful, private treatment room without receptionists or other therapists to interrupt or have to listen to!

* Free client parking on site, right outside the treatment room, and for daytime clients there is also a lovely coffee kiosk on site called ‘Heartwork Coffee’ selling drinks and snacks, with outdoor seating (some under cover).

* Bespoke high quality Essential Oil Blends every time you come, selected together to suit your needs and your mood on the day, with advice for home use for any remaining blend.

* Occasional extra free blends for family members.

* High quality, reasonably priced Essential Oil Blends and other gorgeous Handblended Essential Oil products made just for you on request, for gifts for you or your loved ones (subject to me having the base products in stock).

* Treatment Gift Vouchers to purchase anytime for friends or family, for the same reduced rate as you pay for your treatments. You can have these vouchers personalised with a message of your choice. You can also have vouchers in lieu of any treatment paid for but not taken (if any cancellation fees due have been paid).

* A set, low cancellation/no-show fee. You pay just £25 if you cancel your session within 48 hours of your intended session, or for a no-show on the day. Non-monthly clients pay 50% of the fee if notice is given within 48 hours, or 100% fee if they do not show up on the day of their session. I also waive your fee completely if I manage to fill your appointment at the last minute.
